The Carp shoot was a big success. Many thanks to Will Fowler.

Super Day went extremely well. Thanks to all the volunteers for helping the kids and for giving back to our community.

LETS PROMOTE THE CLUB. While wearing club shirts is NOT mandatory at club functions, it is highly recommended. Club by-laws provides a free shirt to all officers and board members. Other members can purchase them from an Officer.

Last year’s Archer of the Year award will be presented at the Bowhunter's Weekend Tournament

Bowhunter’s Weekend work is on schedule. Targets have been ordered. Make sure you get raffle tickets in to Jason. Need two more volunteers for the registration desk - see Mike Calaway. No bottles will be allowed in Curt Gowdy State Park. Friday night: those volunteers helping to setup the course will receive one meal ticket for use at the shoot.

New "Block" backstops have been installed in the club. Old backstops were successfully sold to club members (by lottery).

Thanks to Bob Graham, Ken Kenney, Bob Vining Sr., Tony and Eli Meena for working on the concrete sidewalk. Additional pours are planned for the near future.

YMCA girl’s camp is July 19th. CFA will be helping out in instructing the girls basic archery.

Last months archery workshop went well. Several folks attended and expressed an interest in additional sessions. Next workshop is planned for July 28th at 6:30pm.

Chris Rowe from Primos will be holding a free elk calling seminar July 21st, 7:00 pm at the Club. If you did not get an elk last year give this class consideration. Open to the Public.

Thanks to Gene Painter for cutting the weeds around the Club building.

State Field Shoot was held July 9th and 10th at Curt Gowdy State Park: CFA State Champions are, John Notgrass, John Wilson, Amy Perkins, Stephanie Perkins, Jen Andrews, Christa Luckenback, and Lee Ford. Congratulations shooters!!

A sign up sheet for a Bowhunter safety class will be posted at the club. If you will be hunting out of State you may need this certification. Class size is limited. Dates are not firm, but should be the end of July or the first part of August.

Butch Rupert delivered a summary of Tuesday night leagues. Target quality has been an issue. If you do not like the target quality please help Neal Perkins (778-7815) repair the targets. The league will eventually be receiving many of the Bowhunter Weekend target leftovers. The league has made over $2,000 or about 45% of it's goal this year. Help us reach that goal.

Work Party August 4th, 6:30pm at CFA building - to load all gear for Bowhunter's Weekend.

No regular board meeting in August. A recap of the shoot meeting will be held August 10th. No meeting will be held in September.

Presidents Message

Last month this club lost a great member. On June 12th, Norm Ruschill passed away. Norm was a member of the Cheyenne Field Archers for over 25 year. Most of that time he spent as the club's Treasurer. The building we shoot in today was a direct result of Norm's generosity. As Treasurer, he helped the membership start the club’s building fund. His hopes were to someday replace the old building with a facility for the membership to be proud of. In November of 2002 that dream became a reality with the first arrow being shot by Norm. This club was Norm’s Pride and joy. I’m proud to have called him my friend!
